The short version
Impostor has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics. The names you type for players and your game settings are stored on your device and never sent to us. The only data that leaves your phone is what is needed to sell and verify the optional Premium subscription, which is handled by Apple and by our subscription provider, RevenueCat. We never sell, rent, or share personal data for advertising.
Who is responsible
The Impostor app is published by Ant Dream LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States, which is the controller of the data described here. Contact us at info@antdreamllc.com about anything on this page. This policy covers the Impostor app only; the rest of our products are covered by the Ant Dream LLC privacy policy.
Data that stays on your device
- Player names you enter to set up a game.
- Game settings — chosen word packs, game mode, number of Impostors and Mr. Whites, rounds, and timer length.
- App preferences — language and whether vibration is on.
This is saved in the app’s own storage so your setup is ready next time. We cannot see it. It may be included in your device’s own backups, and it is deleted when you delete the app.
Data used for purchases
If you buy or restore Premium, the purchase is made through Apple’s In-App Purchase. Apple processes your payment under its own privacy policy, and we never see your name, Apple ID, or card details.
To check whether Premium is active on your device, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service that acts as our processor. RevenueCat receives:
- a random, anonymous app user ID created on your device — not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID by us;
- the App Store receipt and transaction details for your purchases — product, price, currency, purchase and renewal dates, and trial or refund status;
- basic technical data needed to deliver the service — device model, operating system and app version, App Store country, and IP address.
We use this only to unlock Premium, restore it on a new device, handle support requests, and see aggregate subscription numbers. We do not use it for advertising and we do not combine it with data from other apps or websites.
What we do not do
- We do not show ads or include any advertising SDK.
- We do not track you across other companies’ apps and websites, and the app does not ask for permission to.
- We do not run analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, location, microphone, or camera.
- We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
Support emails
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply, and keep support emails for two years.
How long we keep it
Purchase records held by RevenueCat are kept while your subscription is active and for as long as needed to meet tax and accounting obligations. On-device data is kept until you delete the app.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, and US state laws such as the CCPA, you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Because we do not know who you are, include the Apple order ID from your purchase receipt email so we can find your records. Email info@antdreamllc.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Where data is processed
RevenueCat and Apple process data in the United States and other countries. Where personal data is transferred out of the EEA or UK, they rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
Children
Impostor is a party game for teens and adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. The optional After Dark word pack is intended for adults only. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will also say so in the app before they take effect.
